FFI helped CENIT – Textile Intelligence Centre to organise the second edition of the Fashion Meeting of Portuguese Speaking Countries. This Meeting took place in Porto, on the 24th October 2013.
The main topic of this second edition was sustainability. Isabel Cantista from FFI gave a conference followed by a debate, analysing the concept of sustainability and competitiveness. Isabel highlighted several examples of successful international companies who embraced this model of development.
From Mozambique, Christine Ramela and Sónia Ferreira from DDB were present and showed the initiatives carried out during the Mozambique Fashion Week to promote Social sustainability through fashion. Karine Liotino da Silva and Mariana Corrêa showed the new international certification on sustainability developed by ABIT – the Brasilian Textile Industry Association. And António Ressurreição presented the case of NaturaPura, a Portuguese Company that promotes the perfect match between health and environment in terms of product and process.
